While my career path took me to nursing, church music has been a love and moving force throughout my life. I got my feet wet singing in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and grew to sing in my church’s youth and adult choirs. Playing the piano led to helping cover for rehearsals and substituting for church musicians, where I added playing the organ to my repertoire.
In 2008, God called me to step up and lead the music by becoming the music director and musician at my church in Norfolk, Virginia. I completed the Church Music Certificate program at Virginia Wesleyan College in 2009.
I married my high school sweetheart, Chris, after finishing nursing school in 1987. Our family was blessed with two sons in the early 90’s, and we’ve had our share of frogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, cats, and dogs. Wanting to move South, we relocated from Virginia to Richmond Hill, Georgia, in October 2022, where we are the humble servants of three spoiled cats who own the house.
When not checking everything off my to-do list, I love to read, quilt, and cross-stitch. If I ever go missing, you will likely find me at Walt Disney World.
My best advice is that God has a purpose for everything that happens in your life. Trust Him, love Him, and know that the story he writes for your life will be more than you ever imagined!
I am excited to begin my chapter as Worship Leader at Hinesville First United Methodist Church. I am but the instrument … God is the music.
“To God be the Glory!”
